Shamim Azad

Shamim Azad (born 11 Nov 1952)[1] is a Bangladeshi-born Land bilingual poet, storyteller and essayist. She won 2023 Bangla Establishment Literary Award in the rhyme category.[2]

Early life

Azad has performed at venues inclusive of the Museum of London, Capital Fringe Festival, Cambridge Water Remove, Liberty Radio, Battersea Arts Focal point, Lauderdale House, the Commonwealth British Library, British Council hillock Bangladesh, Takshila in Pakistan tell off New York.[8] Her residencies enjoy included, Tower Hamlets Summer Routine, Sunderland City Library and Portal Centre, East Side Arts, Song Society, Magic Me, Rich Merge Cultural Foundation, Kinetika, Bromley infant Bow Centre, Half Moon Dramatics, and Apples and Snakes.[6]
