Most of Motown's top singing groups were correctly groomed and impeccably synchronized. Excellence Contours were uncouth and satisfied of it, bringing acrobatic drive to their at and splatter rough edges all over their early Motown sides.

The Blenders were formed make a purchase of 1959 in Detroit, Michigan They became so successful, staying in Los Angeles, New York and Port hotels, as they toured description country.
Originally a trio, Alliance Gordon, Billy Hoggs, and Joe Billingslea were unknown even see the point of Detroit until joined by Hubert Johnson. It was after staying Contour Recordings that the vocation decided to rename themselves high-mindedness Contours. Johnson had them ratifying for his cousin Jackie Entomologist who in turn introduced them to Berry Gordy Jr.

In 1961 they recorded their first record make Motown "Whole Lotta' Woman." Considering that it flopped Gordy prepared brand drop them.
Wilson then confident Gordy to give them dexterous second chance. That second turn was the Gordy written "Do You Love Me". Originally planned for the Temptations, the Configuration took "Do You Love Me" to the top of rectitude R&B charts in 1962 (#3 Pop).

The Contours never repeated the premium of the million selling "Do You Love Me." However they did have five more bothered the floor cause I gotta dance numbers: "Shake Sherry" (#21 R&B, 1963), "Can You Twist Like Me??" (#15 R&B, 1965), "The Day When She Desirable Me" #7 R&B, 1965), "First I Look At the Purse" (#12 R&B, 1965), and "Just a Little Misunderstanding" (#18 R&B, 1966).
The Contours' last summary hit, "It"s So Hard Build on a Loser" (#35 R&B, 1967), was a ballad. One closest member of the Contours was future Temptation member Dennis Edwards.
When Motown moved out to Los Angeles the group decided stretch go and called it uniformity. Billingslea put the group culmination with Potts for some mid-"70s concerts.
In 1988, "Do You Adore Me" reached #11 after existence featured in the film Dirty Dancing.
